Lecture about the history of realtime computer graphics at the Shanghai Theater Academy Symposium. The lecture start with an overview of the first available tools in the 80’s and going through their evolution and explain where comes from today’s technical and artistical concepts and ideas. Also it present some pionneers I like very much : creative coder, demosceners and VJ’s to illustrate how those peoples influenced the new generation of live visuals artists.
Also, i taught beginners how to create their own realtime effects using VVVV the Multipurpose Toolkit during a four days workshop in the Media Lab.
